How bad is EA that almost 10 years later I would rather play NCAA 04 than '12/'13 ? How many games today can you say that 10 years ago were better, not just for the nostalgic feel/value but because it was legitimately a better football sim ?

Same with MVP 05. I guess you could make some argument that the games today are built for the casual fans, but at the expense of the "real" fans ?? Something tells me the millions of 13 year olds wouldn't really give a shit if they made the game better, as if they would start online petitions to make the games worse ?

I haven't bought NCAA since 06 and Madden since 04. Suck my dick.

I read rich grisham's piece and got really excited when they talked about making it more friendly to casual gamers. That always bodes well for a game. In the end casual gamers still won't like it and they will have pissed off their core audience.

Eventually a company will understand this. I doubt EA will be one of the first though.

Though the idea of the game being simpler isn't necessarily bad. One thing they talked about is that its much harder to fuck up user catches. That could either feel great - or end up being game breaking cheese. We'll see...
